A Chicago native, Yaakov is an experienced leader in both the classroom and the education sales landscape. After completing his Master’s degree in Secondary Education, he taught 6th-grade English and Social Studies at Pritzker Elementary in Chicago, where he wrote a new curriculum to better meet the needs of his students, and started a chess team that competed at the highest Chicago Public School levels.
Yaakov then completed his MBA focusing on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and worked with multiple startups, ultimately leading him to be the School Success Director of California for Project Lead the Way. There he focused on bringing STEM program equity across the region, particularly to those districts, teachers, and students with the highest needs. He loves visiting transformed schools and seeing the positive impact his work has.
When not working, you can find Yaakov spending his time with his wife, Anna, and their almost 2-year-old Solomon, probably at a park or building the tallest tower of blocks possible. Feel free to challenge Yaakov to the board game of your choice, he’s a highly competitive player.
