John combines his experiences as a classroom teacher, education consultant, and technologist to help students excel. After teaching elementary school, he worked as a school turnaround consultant with schools in the Salt Lake City area. He then worked for a customer experience research firm providing insights to Fortune 500 companies. John aims to leverage data-based decision making to enhance education for all students, especially students in low-resource schools.
John grew up moving around the Midwest. After graduating from high school in St. Louis, he moved to Utah to pursue a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. His hobbies include wearing wool socks, playing Pokemon Go, and streaming media content. (No spoilers please, he just started season 2 of media content).
