Estella is a native of Meridian, MS. The majority of her classroom experience involved 10 years of teaching high school students AP Physics and Physical Science and one year of teaching 8th-grade middle school students Physical Science. Her impact outside of the classroom began as Science department chairperson, Science Coach, Data Support Specialist. Her school leadership roles included high school Assistant Principal, middle school Principal, and elementary school Principal.
Estella’s leadership led to state and district recognition for her schools’ achievement in Science and narrowing the gap between different groups of learners. Her strategy has always been to establish a culture and systems that focus on equity, high expectations, and exposure for all learners, raising the bar for instruction and learning in every area, with all members of the learning community held accountable for their role.
Estella holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Master of Education degree in Science Education from Georgia State University.
When she is not impacting educators within the formal school setting, you can find Estella working alongside her husband on their farm in Vossburg, MS, home to Brahma and Wagyu cattle, chickens, honeybee hives, and gardens, educating families and the community on embracing locally produced food. She is the proud mother of one son attending college.
