This post is a Special Edition of CT3’s “Dear Walkie,” a mini-series of podcast episodes that provide a quality place for advice for anti-racist educators. CT3 Associates Chris Cantu and Jackie Surratt, both veteran teachers and school leaders, interview Maria Wilson, Dean of Culture at E Prep Cliffs. They discuss the work Maria is leading to center the priorities of Black students, their families, and communities at their school. She describes some of the challenges and successes they’ve experienced and explains how anti-racism shows up in the way educators support students. Maria references Learning for Justice’s Critical Practices Framework, which she used to approach the anti-bias work at her school.
